The Greater Philadelphia ZOA 2023 Gala will take place on Thursday, Sept. 7, at 5:30 p.m., at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue.
Our Gala is Greater Philadelphia ZOA's evening to celebrate America and Israel, Patriotism and Zionism; recognize the work of outstanding advocates; and enjoy the camaraderie and fellowship of those who also love Israel, the Jewish People and America. This year, that evening is Thursday, September 7.
It will be great to see one-another in person after a long absence.
We will also celebrate the 75th anniversary of Israel's independence, and the 125th anniversary of ZOA's founding!
We are pleased to announce our Greater Philadelphia ZOA 2023 Gala honorees:
Bart Blatstein, Pillar of the Community Award
Justice Sandra Schultz Newman, Defender of Israel Award
Stan and Diane Casacio, Friends of Zion Award
Michael Goldfarb, Ben Hecht Outstanding Journalism Award
What each of our honorees has done and continues to do -- whether in their professions, or among their peers and circles of friends, or in the world of politics – is both inspiring and vitally important.
They are each worthy of your warm “Mazel Tov” and a from-the-heart “Thank you!” We are looking forward to handing each of these honorees their respective award in-person.
Participate in our Gala Ad Journal/Tribute Book:
The Ad Journal is a great space to promote your business or a business that you have a relationship with. It is also a perfect place to publicly thank and congratulate our honorees, proclaim your personal pro-Israel message or salute ZOA and our leadership.

Our Gala is our biggest event of the year and also our most important fundraising opportunity of the year.
Please help us be more successful than ever so that we can be more successful than ever in the promotion of and defense of Zionism, Israel and the Jewish People, and to prevent and combat anti-Jewish activity. The need is great for a robust Greater Philadelphia ZOA.
If you have any questions or would like more information about our Gala Ad Journal/Tribute Book or the Gala itself, please call us at 610-660-9466.
Our streamlined Gala will take place at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue. The festivities will include a sumptuous glatt-kosher cocktail reception, the awards ceremony and an outstanding dessert reception.
Our Emcee for our 2023 Gala will be communal leader, businessman and patriarch of a great family, Gary Erlbaum, who will lend us his panache, wit and talent for the evening.
Dietary laws observed. We have retained a second mashgiach for our Gala in Rabbi Hershel Weitz.
Our Gala co-chairs are Lynne Kessler Lechter and Bruce Holberg.
We are also looking for volunteers to help the day of the Gala: Before, during and after!
