Visit Israel With ZOA — Registration Deadline Nears!
Shalom ZOA Members, Friends and Supporters of Israel,
See Jerusalem, Samaria and Judea (and other locations) with ZOA on a one-of-a-kind mission to Israel from March 5 to 14 2017.
A highlight of the special 120th Anniversary ZOA Purim Mission is visits to Israel Defense Forces bases to personally hand to men and women of the IDF thousands of misloach manot packages plus “thank you” cards and letters made by American students especially for this mission.
Not only will the mission take you to places that missions or tours rarely if ever visit, but the mission will be based in Jerusalem – so there is no need to keep packing and unpacking!
Also during the mission you will attend a ceremony marking the issuing of an Israeli postage stamp commemorating 120 years of ZOA’s promoting and defending Israel and the Jewish people. Read more about where the Mission will take you at: http://zoa.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Purim-Mission-2017-Itinerary-Final.pdf

Please Help Us Help Israel and the Jewish People
Shalom ZOA Members, Friends and Supporters of Israel,
As you make your end-of-year donations, please keep in mind the invaluable work that ZOA does, both in the public eye and behind-the-scenes, to help Israel and the Jewish People.
Much of what we do locally, nationally and in Israel is unquantifiable, but you can be sure that we at ZOA are always active, always vigilant, always outspoken as we support, promote and defend Israel.
Our professional staff and lay leaders are constantly engaged in activism: Whether it be encouraging advocacy, educating the under-informed, reaching out to those who care about Israel in their heart but otherwise would lack an outlet to channel their energy — ZOA provides information and the resources to try to make a difference
- In the media;
- On campuses;
- In government;
- Within the Jewish community; and
- Throughout daily life.
All of it takes place because of your generosity. Thank you.
Your donation will allow us to do all of these and more in 2017, and the year ahead promises to be another one when ZOA’s vital services will be needed.
Please support the work we do with a gift that is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
There is no doubt that during 2016, you attended one of our Speakers Bureau presentations, or a ZOA meeting or special event; or you were alerted to a situation that needed your letters and phone calls; or you were better-informed about Israel and the broader Middle East. Help make it possible for us to continue and increase our activities and initiatives.
You can make a donation by check made out to ZOA to: ZOA, P.O. Box 56, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
You can make a donation by credit card by clicking on the donation tab on our Web site: https://zoa.org/donate/philly/
This Thursday, Dec. 8: “An Evening With Sgt. Benjamin Anthony”
Next Thursday is Greater Philadelphia ZOA’s special event with Sgt. Benjamin Anthony of Our Soldiers Speak.
Sgt. Anthony is not only a gifted speaker, but his solid pro-Israel message is one that everybody who cares about Israel can benefit from. He pulls no punches when he speaks, and he offers the perspective of a battle-hardened soldier who truly loves his country.
Sgt. Anthony’s topic is particularly timely: “The Two-State Solution As Is: A Concession of Land, Hope and the Israeli Future.”
It is particularly important for students in high school and college to hear Sgt. Anthony. His are viewpoints that are rare today. To that end — thanks to several sponsors – we have a limited number of free tickets for students, but they must pre-register by calling the ZOA Office at 610-660-9466.
Please let your friends, contacts, fellow congregants and social media know about this event, and encourage them to attend.
We are grateful that the Israel Advocacy Committee of Temple Beth Hillel-Beth El is joining with us to present this opportunity to hear and learn from a top-flight speaker.
General admission is $10. Sponsorships are $200 and include four tickets.
We look forward to seeing you on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. at the synagogue.
Tickets are available online at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/an-evening-with-sgt-benjamin-anthony-tickets-29117370840
You can also register by phone at 610-660-9466.
Please see and share the flyer below.
We are still looking for volunteers to help at this event, and we have someone in Center City who is in need of a ride. To volunteer or offer a ride, please call the number above.
Thank you.

Israel: The Untold Story
Hardly a week goes by that a medical, scientific or technological breakthrough is not developed in Israel – a development that Israel gladly shares with the world. But other news from Israel and the Middle East dominates the headlines, and these breakthroughs and developments rarely are exposed to the public.
This Thursday, Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Elkins Park, Greater Philadelphia ZOA will present demonstrations of the remarkable life-improving devices ReWalk which helps paraplegics walk, and Orcam, which helps the blind to see, at a meeting focusing on “Accentuating the Positive: Israel Brings Light, Life and So Much More to the Nations.” The meeting will take place at Beth Sholom Congregation, 8231 Old York Road in Elkins Park.
In addition to a demonstration of ReWalk by someone who uses the device, and a presentation on Orcam by a representative of the company, the featured speaker will be Mark Cohen, president and founder of Israel Ideas, who will offer an audio/video presentation of some of the modern marvels that are developed in Israel.
The meeting is free and open to the public.
The Zionist Organization of America is one of America’s largest pro-Israel educational, advocacy, and outreach organizations. Greater Philadelphia ZOA promotes Israel and strengthening a mutually beneficial U.S.-Israel relationship through regular meetings and special events, literature and media. We have a close relationship with the Israeli government, and work regularly with other Jewish organizations as well as Christian Zionists. We combat BDS via our “Buy Israel” campaign, interact with college students, and our leadership are mainstays within the regional community via our talks and presentations and media appearances. We support Israel’s right to security and peace, and a peace accord that benefits Israel.
Beth Sholom is the only synagogue designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
