Luntz will give a presentation on “American Public Opinion About Israel: What Forms It and What Can Pro-Israel Advocates Do To Help Improve It.”

Greater Philadelphia ZOA is looking for volunteers to make calls for our upcoming events.

You can either make them from our Bala Cynwyd office, or wherever is convenient for you.

If you can lend us your time and talent, please call us at 610-660-9466.

Thank you!

Has the (unorthodox) organized Jewish community fallen off the rails?

By Lee Bender

In Numbers 10:35-36, the Torah describes the years of exile and wandering when the Children of Israel were exposed to those who sought to cause them harm. Moses would say the following when the Ark was set out: “Advance, O Lord! May your enemies be scattered, and may your foes flee before You!” This prayer is said today in synagogue services when the Torah is taken out of the Ark. Upon its return to the Ark the prayer continues: “Return, O Lord, You who are Israel’s myriads of thousands!”  The rabbis explain that during tranquil times, when the danger is not persecution but assimilation, the prayer is a homiletic interpretation, “O Lord, return the thousands of Israel who have strayed.”

Unfortunately, too many of our co-religionists have indeed strayed and continue to drift so much so to the left that the question is: Has the (generally unorthodox) “organized” Jewish community’s religion become Leftism? There are disturbing trends.

Isi Liebler cogently summarizes several prominent recent examples of such behavior with regard to the latest violent Gaza protests:

EBulletin for May 25, 2018

Shalom ZOA Members, Friends and Supporters of Israel,

If you are receiving this email, you are familiar with the  Zionist Organization of America. You are either a ZOA member, or you’ve come to one of our events, attended a ZOA Speakers Bureau presentation or stopped by our booth at a pro-Israel event. You know at least a little about us, and now we would like to know more about you and the broader community. We also want to find out what others know about the Zionist Organization of America as well as the work that we do.

To achieve those goals, we have created a simple, quick, three-part questionnaire on the Survey Monkey Web site. Nearly each of the 26 questions requires just a “yes” or “no” answer.

Please click on the first link below, complete it, and then subsequently do the surveys at each of the other two links.

Please help ZOA improve by copying/pasting the three links and email them to friends and contacts plus post them on your social media networks and encourage others to fill out the surveys.

You already know the educational and advocacy work that ZOA does. Help others find out about us and all the good that we do. Help expose your friends, neighbors, family and others to the truth about Israel and the war against Israel and the Jewish People. They won’t get it from most of the media, nor many politicians or even educators for the most part. But they will get it and understand it from ZOA – with your help. Host a parlor meeting or a public event with one of our speakers.

On Tuesday, May 15, the Israeli flag on Benjamin Franklin Parkway was desecrated by vandals. It was sprayed with red paint. One suspect was arrested and mysteriously released by Philadelphia’s District Attorney. Meanwhile, there is video showing part of the attack against this symbol of the Jewish Homeland by a second suspect — whose face was partially obscured. A second individual is seen videotaping the crime. See below some screen shots from the video of the attacker and the taper. Perhaps you or someone you know might recognize one or both of the individuals.
